My Wells Are Full

"The peace and joy we once held dear, Let’s take this agape love to a higher sphere!"

Vulnerable is my heart tonight,

I want to remove every slight;

So I forgive everyone who sent

a Dear John letter,

It was probably for the better;

I pardon any who abandoned the ship,

Leaving me on an island

in the middle of a friendship;

To anyone where I have done the same,

I feel like Zacchaus so it’s time to reclaim;

Please excuse if I talked too much

that wasn’t my intent,

Sometimes I get carried away when I vent;

Forgive me if I bruised your inner soul,

Please release me from parole;

My wells are teeming by the grace of the Lord,

Time to pick up every voyager

who slipped overboard;

Let’s “lay aside every weight that does

so easily beset us,

And run with patience

the race that is set before us;”

This is my plea though it be simple and plain,

It’s high time to wipe the slate clean;

Let the Lord abundantly pardon and reign,

When we do we might regain;

The peace and joy we once held dear,

Let’s take this agape love to a higher sphere!
